since then, i have gotten married and moved into my husband's home.
his father and mother also live there.
JWs pretty much stopped using their Bibles in Field Circus sometime during the mid-90's. Before that, it was almost mandatory to read one or more texts, hand over the 2 rags and then hope the householder doesn't ask any questions that require any deep thought or insight. If they did, it would require a return visit.
Now, they keep the presentation inside of 20 seconds, hand over the rags and run.

my spies tell me that they are getting shown videos very regularly at the 2 day convention(tm).. i figured it may be because the wbt$ wants mass indoctrination using their tried and tested propaganda techniques.. the average elder won't be aware that the wbt$ uses these thought reform techniques so will be incapable of using them himself.
also, the elder might not put the money grabbing, 1984 ministry of truth spin on things and actually say something good instead.
we know the wbt$ don't like 'good'!

i have nothing against gay people and wish them only the best.. but of course i'm in a minority of one, the jw's around me are posting away on fb the most homophobic vitriol imaginable.

The "pioneer pace" has slowed so much that next year you'll see JWs walking in reverse.
governing body member david splane has a new video on tv.jw.org where he talks about all the horrible things committed by martin luther and the protestant reformers.. his conclusion is that there has been no faithful and discreet slave on the earth during the past 1900 years (before 1919 i guess.).
he also says that maybe there were a few anointed on earth, maybe not.. he did add an interesting statement that he doesn't condemn the other churches just for misunderstanding the bible because the society has done that.. another odd point, was that he actually mentioned catholic missionary work in a somewhat positive light, while totally condemning the reformation views on predestination..
